Seriously, millions of visitors later, mentions in everything from The New York Times to Rolling Stone to Entertainment Weekly, visits to Bryant Park and the finale parties and we're still stunned at how things turned out. Who knew we could milk so much material out of one lowly reality television show? Thank you to Laura, for being so fabulous that she inspired our very first post (and let's face it, the whole blog), thank you to all the designers, some of whom became our friends and some of whom won't even pose for pictures with us, and especially, thanks to all of you, you fabulous, witty, loyal, funny, intelligent readers for keeping us inspired and making us better.

Laura sent us this a while back and it had the caption "If the shoe fits, BUY IT." Well, opinionated bitches that we are, we told her it was kind of lame since that joke is on about a million refrigerator magnets. Laura was all "Fine. Have a contest then." So we are!

That was kind of a bust, wasn't it? Not that it was completely without entertainment value. Certainly, Kathy Griffin could keep us entertained by reading her insurance policy. And Lorenzo says that the live version was a hell of a lot more entertaining than the broadcast one. For one, Kathy came out and started off by reading a list of the words that Bravo wouldn't let her say and she did it in her inimitable Griffin style. Also, the wardrobe malfunction bit she did with Lance Bass was not ready for prime time but it sure as hell was funny. What you didn't see were her gigantic rubber boobs and his gigantic rubber penis. Since the whole joke hinged on that, it came across pretty flat when they blurred the offending body parts out.
Still, how much fun was it to see an All-Star Project Runway challenge?
It was so weird to see Laura and Mychael back in the work room alongside Nick and Sweet P and Chris and even (god help us) Daniel Franco. Of course we were thrilled because it gave us .... MORE DRESSES TO RIP! YAY!
When there were rumors floating around a couple of months ago that there would be an All-Star PR season, we rolled our eyes and declared the idea lame.
But after last night, we've definitely warmed up to the idea. Come on, who wouldn't want to see Laura's maribou feathers go toe to toe with Chris's human hair skirt? Or Sweet P vs. Alison? Nick v. Christian? Ah well. It's probably for the best.
The dresses from last night are all being auctioned off for relief efforts in Myanmar. How cool is that? You can own a Laura Bennett original AND help out your fellow man.
As for the dresses themselves, well...

Well darlings, we guess you want to hear all about the A-List Awards, don't you? Well grab a cup of coffee and a couple of sandwiches because this one's gonna take awhile. Go ahead. We won't start without you.
We'll start off by saying this: since the show hasn't aired yet, we're going to try not to give too much away.
Suffice it to say... It wasn't exactly the Oscars.
Let's start at the very beginning, shall we? Tom couldn't make it due to some family commitments, so poor little Lorenzo had to go into the big city and be fabulous all by his lonesome. He arrived first at (where else?) Laura's place, where the word for the day is "superhero." We don't know if she was inspired by the recent Met gala or her boys are all in prime blockbuster age and thus, in full on Iron Man/Batman zeitgeist-wallowing, but her place was wall-to-wall superhero, including the dress forms. This is the dress Laura wore on the red carpet.
Lorenzo sat and dished while she was having her hair styled by Jeanie Syfu, who'll be the lead stylist for TRESemmé replacing Nathaniel Hawkins for PR S5 and she told Lorenzo she will be joining the shooting next week. She was very sweet and funny.
Lorenzo had wine with Peter and chatted with Laura about this and that.
This is the dress she wore on stage. The dress does not photograph well, but looks GORGEOUS on her.
And of course Lorenzo had to get a picture of her jewelry.
Of course we got up early to root for our girl this morning and sent her a text at the last second to wish her luck. And if you didn't get up early to buy that LBD on QVC, you're SOL because that gorgeous little black dress of hers sold out in minutes. Tell QVC you want more! We like it better with the shorter sleeves, we have to say.

Our gal Laura Bennett made an appearance on the Today Show this morning to talk about her latest iVillage fashion strip, Case Clothed. Check it:

And yes, the models were wearing pieces from her new line, which will be sold at high end stores. More details on that as we get them, but kittens, we've seen some of these pieces up close the last couple of times we visited and they are impeccable.

And in other Laura news... We stopped by her place last week and saw her designs for her QVC appearance (April 11th), which feature absolutely gorgeous fabrics and much more color. She'll be including the little black dress in the April collection as well, but QVC only ordered 500 of them, so be prepared. Also, she's working on a Case Clothed site, which will feature all kinds of cool merch illustrated by Robert Best. She's also working on her own line. Girl is busy!
