Terri and Kenley

My goodness, kittens! We still have a shit ton of dresses to rip!

Let's start with the one you all keep bringing up:

While this look had a lot going for it, we're afraid we can't completely commit ourselves to getting on the TerriLove Train. It was certainly one of the few entries that fit the challenge.

It's modern-looking and stylish, which is a huge plus, and it's amazing to us that Terri managed to complete 3 tailored pieces during a time frame in which many of the designers couldn't properly complete one.

Here's the thing: she has three different stripe patterns in two shades of blue and three shades of red above the waist. That's an awful lot of look.

Plus, that top is way too tight and sits too low for most women.

And that ruffle-y ascot thingy is just too much. There's so much going on in her upper half that the eye doesn't know where to rest when taking it in.

We liked the white pants with the stripe running down one side, but we didn't particularly like the flared leg. We tend to think that a straight leg would have been better for this look.

And there appear to be some fit and/or execution issues around the waist.

It's a smart look and definitely one of the best ones in a sea of mediocrity, but it wasn't without its problems. Many people have commented that she was robbed out of the win, but we can see why the judges didn't pick this one.

Well, Kenley has been pegged as "the annoying one" by her peers and we can't say we disagree.

Granted, it didn't escape our notice that her apparent annoying tendencies only came up AFTER she won a challenge and as we all know, jealousy always plays a huge part in delicious reality television drama.

Still, if we had to listen to that laugh 16 hours out of 24, we'd go insane.

As for her entry...

...she appears to have been stricken by that elusive affliction that hears "Olympics" and thinks "cocktail party." Although to be fair, this is less a cocktail dress and more like something a particularly stylish woman would wear to the office.

She said she wanted to stick to only blue and white because it's "more tasteful," which is all well and good, but she needed to marry "tasteful" with the dictates of the challenge. There's no way to look at this and think "Olympics." It's not remotely sporty or patriotic. And besides, that blue looks awfully close to purple to our eyes.

Taken on its own, we like the idea behind the look. Although that skirt looks a little sloppy. We suppose it was deliberate that she didn't match up the plaid, but we can't say we like it.

And that top looks awfully wonky to us as well.

Why does everything look twisted and wrinkled and poorly executed? She certainly didn't have execution problems with the last challenge and that appeared to be a more complicated design than this one.

Crushed Rainbows and Restored Faith

Oh good lord.

There's something about middle age that makes it near-impossible to shake off the urge to scream "YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT ANYTHING! GOD!" at young people as you pass them by. Most of the time, we manage to keep such impulses under control. That kinda flies out the window at the sight of Blayne, though.

He's not awful. He's just annoying. We want to take him aside and say "Kid, you're trying too hard. Stop." But then he'd probably say something stupid and the next thing you know, we'd be in jail on assault charges.

We don't hate the dress. We don't love it, but each week and with each challenge he shows a little more promise.

Whatever his inspiration was, it doesn't really say "New York at night," either in the picture or in the dress.

She looks like she fell asleep on top of a pile of birthday presents and woke up with a bunch of crushed bows stuck to her.

Similar to Emily's in that it's a plain black dress with an exuberant ruffled embellishment on it, but he used the colors well and the crushed rainbow effect was at least a little interesting.

It's so strange. We've been singing Terri's praises for the last two weeks and this week she finally gets a lot of positive attention from the judges...

...for a look that we really didn't love. Stranger still, so many of our commenters seemed to love it. We were befuddled. Are we all looking at the same outfit?

But then we decided to take our bitchpants off for once, and sit here in our bitchboxers, looking at it with a more objective eye.

We'll say this, it's a look.

And we're not being backhanded when we say that. It's a strong look that makes an impact. To be fair, the styling was perfect and Xaviera worked the shit out of it.

To be honest, one of the biggest detriments to our liking the piece was our extreme negative reaction to the fabric she chose. Much like Kenley's, this looks like '80s hotel fabric.

And we're sorry, but graffiti and posted bills as an inspiration has been done. It was done long before Santino and Kara went the same route in roughly the same challenge 3 years ago.

And we so can NOT get behind the dress-over-pants look. We didn't like it when it was in style and that was almost a decade ago.

But the shape of that dress is nice and the back of it is gorgeous.

It moves well too.

It is an interesting look, we'll give it that. Without the pants, we might even have loved it. Even though our initial reaction to this look was a collective "Hunh?" our faith in Terri is restored. We can see that she does know what she's doing and the parts of this look that we don't like can be chalked up mostly to editing and styling choices.

She may continue kicking ass on the way to Bryant Park.

Terri and Blayne

Is anyone else falling a little in love with her? She seems so sweet and fun to be around. We'll be disappointed if she turns out to be a bitch. Then again, the sweet ones make the most entertaining bitches.

And What is UP with her stuff consistently getting ignored by the judges? This is GORGEOUS. Great silhouette, great proportions and fabulously styled with a model that looked beautiful in it and walked like she knew it.

Are we wrong here? We can admit it's not a show-stopping dress, but it's beautifully done and it demonstrates taste, skill and even restraint, which can't be undervalued.

We love the irregular ruffles and the contrasting sash.

And it's even got a nice "walking away" effect.

It's not the best color in the world for this design and the fabric doesn't look rich enough, but she did the best she had with what she was given and turned out a cute, sexy little dress.

We don't know what it's going to take for her to get a little recognition for her work. This was the second time she sent a stylish, unique look down the runway and the second time the judges yawned and looked away.

Don't hate us for this, kittens, but we actually thought he was pretty enjoyable this episode.

Oh, don't look at us like that. His "leatha" interactions with Stella were pretty funny.

Coming so close on the heels of last season's exhausting (and overt) push of Christian Siriano star-making, we feel like we just got finished babysitting a friend's kid when another friend unexpectedly showed up to drop their flamboyant little attention-seeking child off. Sure, we'll watch them for you but we're wiped out, so we're probably going to ignore them a lot and let them play with drycleaning bags.

Even so, he was less annoying this week and showed a dramatic improvement in his output.

It's not that we love the dress, because we really don't, but it was a pleasant surprise after last week's crotch centipede.

It demonstrates that he does have some skill even if it isn't particularly stylish or sophisticated.

Just a bit too pink and tight and short. The asymmetrical, puffy thing he was doing with the neckline wasn't really to our taste but it wasn't a bad attempt at trying to make it more visually interesting. Ditto the off-center black panel. Points for effort, but the overall look isn't very chic.

We're not saying it's tacky; it's just that it would look better on a Barbie doll than an actual flesh-and-blood girl.
