Team Ricky

Ricky: "I think I should be team leader."

Victorya: "I agree. You do think you should be team leader."

Elisa: "Hi Ricky! I really like your hat."

Ricky: "Sometimes you just need to shut up and let me be in charge."

Victorya: "I don't believe that you really think that."

Elisa: "WHOA! Did the earth just shift on its axis or something?"

Victorya: "You know, I really don't think that you want to do it that way."

Ricky: "You know what, bitch? Why don't you worry about your own shitgasm or maybe go help the hippy chick out with her stuff?"

"Hey guys! Should I make a dress or something? Wow, you look so small from over here."

Oh lord, kittens. Was that team a miasma of passive-aggression, ego, hyperdefensiveness and smack-talking or what?

We couldn't have picked two worse people to be on the same team. Ricky is always ten seconds away from a crying jag and Victorya always seems like she's ten minutes away from stabbing someone with a pair of scissors.

The thing is, they were both right in their own way but one of them was more right than the other. Victorya clearly wanted to lead the team without the downside of having her neck on the chopping block come judging time and Ricky just wanted Victorya to say "You're THE BEST Ricky! How could I ever have doubted you?!"

Neither of these bitches were able to trust the instincts of the other one. While it was good that Ricky helped her with her fit issue, he hovered over her way too much and fretted over every design decision she made when as far as we could tell, she was doing just fine.

It looked to us like Ricky was just reacting to the fact that She was fretting over HIS design issues. Problem was, she was right. Ricky was the one that was having the most problems but he didn't want to hear it.

Let's go to the tape:

Ricky sez: "We're giving the illusion of underwear, the neon was stringing the whole group together and the cutouts were just illusions."

Okay, so TWO out of your THREE requirements were just illusions? What the hell? Actually, all three of them were imaginary because that is not neon. Those are jewel tones with a little bit of bright yellow. And how is it that a lingerie designer lead a team that couldn't make anything that looked remotely like underwear?

Yow. That is FUG.

And poorly put-together fug at that.

We don't get it. Is that bodice supposed to suggest a bra or something? Is that the underwear part of the challenge? Is the netting supposed to suggest cut outs?

Poor Chris had it all wrong. He should have skipped the shoulder pads altogether and just told the judges he was going for the "illusion" of them.

Elisa sez: "If I had not known that I made that dress, I would never think that I made that dress."

?

Anyway, we actually liked this one the best. We keep saying it, but Puppet Girl knows what she's doing.

We agreed with Nina that the so-called illusory cutouts could have been done in more sophisticated shapes - and it would have been nice if a couple of them had been, y'know...actual cutouts - but this was a sharp, modern-looking dress.

It's a damn shame they chose satin for the fabric, though because it comes close to ruining this dress. It already ruined Ricky's.

We liked this one too. Liked, not loved.

First, the whole silhouette looks very dated to us and despite Ricky's best efforts to fix it, that bodice is just too tight.

We love the colors she used, even though they weren't neon. She was smart to get rid of that awful yellow. The detail and finishing on the bodice is beautiful. We just don't like the line where the bodice meets the skirt. It draws way too much attention to itself.

All in all, this team was a trainwreck and in our opinion, did far worse than Chris' team in meeting the objectives of the challenge. But they sure were fun to watch.

Victorya: "I think Ricky should go because he totally got up in my grill."

Ricky: "I think Victorya should go because she almost made me cry."

Elisa: "Look! That girl is wearing a dress just like the one I made! Wait. Did I make that dress?"

Princess Puffysleeves and Team Star

We love the little shit.

We thought we were going to wind up hating him, but how can you not love a tiny little pocketgay with jacked-up hair, a 14-inch waist, and a predilection for pronouncing everything "fierce" through his nose?

Sure, we wouldn't want to be stuck in an elevator with Princess, but so far, this season is seriously lacking in the wacky department and we're just happy that SOMEONE among these boring professionals is willing to embrace the experience and have fun with it.

To top it off, he's shown himself to be pretty talented, too. He was, after all, the leader of a team which, in our opinion, should have won this week. Granted, it sounds like he just declared himself the leader and Kit and Jack just went along with it, but still.

This? Really is fierce.

Beautiful proportions, perfectly executed and fantastic choice of fabrics.

Going black and white was an inspired choice. Otherwise, all the stripes and patterns would never have worked together. And we love the take on the men's tie. Interpretive, not literal.

We like, but not as much as the previous one.

The silhouette is too similar and it lacks the visual impact. It's good; it's just not as "wow" as the previous piece.

Plus, we're not crazy about the blouse. Too puffy and high-collared to go with a jacket.

Another one to like, which surprises us because if you asked us what we thought of sack dresses over tights, we'd immediately think of the Olsen twins - and that is most decidedly NOT a compliment.

Again, we love the proportions and the fabric choice. Love that neckline, which makes the look.

By the way, in case you were wondering, that's upholstery fringe on the neckline. We have no idea where they used pleather in this collection.

We like the pocket detail too. The only thing we don't like are the sleeves. Little cap sleeves would've worked better.

It really was a great little collection that had a sense of cohesion to it. It showed an intellectual approach and a thought process. It wasn't for every woman out there, but then again, not all fashion should be. It was, to use yet another Nina-ism, truly fashion forward. We think the only reason the judges didn't give it more consideration was because it failed somewhat on the requirements of the challenge. One can't reasonably look at this collection and think of zoot suits, fringe and pleather.

"Our team is pretty fierce, so I called everyone Team Star. Team Star is like hot, like star, like celebrity."

Come on, that's ADORABLE.

SissyBear is gone.

*sniff*

We miss him already.

We weren't even planning on getting to him today, since it would require posting about 6 outfits in one day, but you bitches just wouldn't shut up about him on the Jillian post. Not that we can blame you. Who didn't love Chris?

To be honest, we could smell his auf'ing on the wind. Especially once his team mates basically decided he was the team leader. There is no greater kiss of death on Project Runway than being a team leader, is there?

A shame really, because this was one of the lowest-drama teams last night. Everyone seemed to be puttering along just fine without any ego getting in the way.

Although granted, Sweet P and Steven seemed to have reservations about Chris' outfit and didn't seem to voice them strongly enough.

To be honest...

...so did we. It just looks like dragwear to us.

Now, put down the knives, ladies. We're NOT saying he deserved to be auf'd but we DO think the judges' criticisms were for the most part, spot on.

We've said it before about Chris' work: it's a little too on the gay/fierce side of things and subsequently, a little dated-looking.

Now, we already hear you yelling at your monitors. "How can anyone do shoulder pads and NOT look dated?" But kittens, that WAS the challenge. To update a dated look. Chris, bless his gay heart, just didn't manage it this week.

We think that jacket fabric was a really bad choice and we agreed with the Duchess when she said it looked like it was still on the hanger. Little bolero jackets should fit the body a little better than that - especially if the shoulders are going to be exaggerated. We did like the bell sleeves, though.

And Duchess? Enough with the M.O.B. line. It was funny once.

We did like the dress, although it was a little dull. Again, poor fabric and color choices.

As for his teammates...

Hated it on the runway, but we're liking it more in the pictures. Dig that hem.

We think it's funny that Donna Karan liked this one the best, since it basically looks like a Donna Karan dress.

We kind of hate the turtleneck - especially in black - but we do think this was a good attempt at updating the baggy sweater look and making it modern while at the same time reminding you of its origins. In fact, this is the best thing Sweet P's made so far.

This:

Not so much. First, we hate the fabric.

Second, it doesn't look at all like dancewear. Dojowear maybe, but not dancewear.

It's not awful. In fact, it's kind of cute. We just think it didn't fit the requirements of the challenge and it didn't fit in with the collection.

Then again...

This doesn't look like a collection at all. Why did they pick such drab colors?

Oh Chris. We were so rooting for you. This competiton needs a sissybear who sounds like a cartoon character. These boring "professionals" are putting us to sleep.

As we said, we agreed with the judges' criticisms for the most part, but we don't necessarily agree that he should have gone home last night. If this all wasn't shot 6 months ago, we'd start a Bring Back Chris petition.
